Once upon a time, there was this teenager named Pattie Mallette. She became a single mother at such a young age and had a son. She named him Justin. He was interested in sports and music but he kept his musical aspirations to himself. He had natural rhythm and when he was growing up, he taught himself how to play the piano, guitar, and drums. He then started singing, joined a singing competition, and placed second. Everyone was amazed because everyone in that competition had singing lessons before and the fact that Justin had no experience at all and placed second was big. His mother recorded him and added it onto YouTube, so that their family and friends could see it. She kept on posting more videos every time he sang. Never in a million years did she think it would become so big.

Scooter Braun, a former marketing executive was on YouTube one day watching some videos when he stumbled on one of Justin Bieber’s videos. He did not mean to click it but after watching one video, he clicked on a few more until he found the one where Justin was singing ‘So Sick’. Scooter was so impressed he searched him up by calling the places he performed at, his teachers and his great aunt. Everyone who knew Pattie kept on telling her about the phone calls, so one day she used a pay phone to call Scooter and asked to leave them alone. She did not think her phone would change their lives. Scooter arranged everything so that they could go to Atlanta and see what labels would want this kid. Every label Scooter knew kept saying ‘NO, he’s not ready yet’. Nevertheless, Scooter had so much faith in him he did not give up. He ended up finding Usher, who is JB’s idol and Usher brought him to L.A Reid. They were all amazed and Usher did not want to lose Justin to Justin Timberlake, so Usher won the battle. Eventually, Justin (who was 13 at the time) was signed and sang for Usher. He got his first single ‘One Time’. Unfortunately, it was not a hit single right away. Radio stations would not play the songs. Justin made them change their minds by going to each station that did not want to play the song and actually sang it live acoustically. Weeks after it was on the top 20 list. He then started his albums, started touring around North America and had a 3D movie. Three years later, he never thought he would become this famous, with 24 awards out of 38 nominations he is on the road of success.

He was once a nobody and now he is a somebody. He was just a young boy that wanted to share his talent with his family and friends. He always wanted to be a crossing guard when he grew up but he never thought he would be that one boy that has to actually live his full dream and become a star. Justin never thought in million years his life would end up like this. He had big dreams and found out what was possible because he never gave up.
